- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>The first molecular bismuth vanadium oxide cluster compound H<sub>3</sub> [{Bi(dmso)<sub>3</sub>}<sub>4</sub>V<sub>13</sub>O<sub>40</sub>] ·≈4DMSO is synthesized by addition of an aqueous Bu<sub>4</sub>NOH solution to a hot solution of Bi(NO<sub>3</sub>)<sub>3</sub> and (Bu<sub>4</sub>N)<sub>3</sub>[H<sub>3</sub>V<sub>10</sub>O<sub>28</sub>] in DMSO/2% H<sub>2</sub>O (80 °C, 1 h, 91% yield).</p> </abstract>
