- <abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>PAF, an antifungal protein</bold> found in <italic>P. chrysogenum</italic>, is stabilized with three disulfide bonds that are essential for bioactivity. G. Váradi, G. K. Tóth and co‐workers in their Full Paper on <ext-link ext-link-type="doi" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">page 12684 ff.</ext-link> show that the protein with its native fold and disulfide pattern can be prepared in good yield by using a combination of solid‐phase synthesis and native chemical ligation followed by oxidative refolding.<boxed-text content-type="graphic" position="anchor" orientation="portrait"><graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgg37rmp27d" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></boxed-text></p> </abstract>
