Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>Take the shortcut</bold>: The synthesis of core‐modified <italic>meso</italic> aryl hexaphyrins with an internal thiophene bridge is reported. Introduction of the thiophene bridge alters the electronic structure as well as the π‐electron circuit, resulting in increases in singlet lifetime (<italic>τ</italic>_s) and the two‐photon absorption (TPA) cross‐section.
