<abstract abstract-type="main" id="ajo12232-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>With the rapid uptake of noninvasive prenatal testing (NIPT), certain technical and ethical limitations are becoming more widely recognised; however, there are still some salient issues that seem to be left by the wayside. As the consumer driven push for NIPT increases, healthcare providers need to ensure that they are providing testing appropriately and that patients understand the potential limitations and results as well as the benefits.</p> </abstract>
