- <abstract abstract-type="main"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>We introduced rare earth metal samarium (Sm) as n‐type dopant, which is less reactive than alkaline metals and has low workfunction. The electrical and optical properties of Sm doped 4, 7‐diphenyl‐1, 10‐phenanthroline (BPhen) thin films with different concentrations are investigated. We also demonstrated the Sm‐doped BPhen layer can be utilized as an electron injection layer (EIL) for organic light‐emitting diodes.</p> </abstract>
