- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>The polyoxometalate compound [CuPTCP(H<sub>2</sub>O)<sub>2.5</sub>]<sub>2</sub>[SiW<sub>12</sub>O<sub>40</sub>]<bold>·</bold>10.5H<sub>2</sub>O (<bold>1</bold>) was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions using 2‐phenyl‐1H‐1, 3, 7, 8‐tetraazacyclopenta[l]phenanthrene (PTCP) and Keggin‐type silicotungstic acid (H<sub>4</sub>SiW<sub>12</sub>O<sub>4</sub>) as neutral ligands. Compound <bold>1</bold> was characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction, elemental analysis, as well as IR and UV/Vis spectroscopy. It crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group <italic>Cmcm</italic> with <italic>a</italic> = 15.490(8) nm, <italic>b</italic> = 25.263(8) nm, <italic>c</italic> = 20.988(8) nm, <italic>α</italic> = 90°, <italic>β</italic> = 90°, <italic>γ</italic> = 90°, <italic>V</italic> = 8213(6) nm<sup>3</sup>, <italic>Z</italic> = 2. Compared with the ligand PTCP, the fluorescent spectra of compound <bold>1</bold> are different. Furthermore, the Rhodamine B (RhB) photodegration process by compound <bold>1</bold> as catalyst was studied. It could be shown that the DR% of compound <bold>1</bold> is more than twice that of pure silicotungstic acid.</p> </abstract>
