Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>A benzophosphole oxide as an electron‐accepting unit is combined with an electron‐donating aminophenyl group to form a fluorescent probe. A. Fukazawa, T. Higashiyama, S. Yamaguchi et al. show in their Communication on <ext-link ext-link-type="doi" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">page 4539 ff.</ext-link> that the probe exhibits a fluorescence color change as a function of solvent polarity while retaining high fluorescence quantum yields.
