- <abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="crat201400156-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>Titanium alloys are attractive for use in the compressor of jet engines because of their high strength‐to‐density ratio. This study describes the development of high‐temperature titanium alloys, mainly focusing on the effects of alloy composition and microstructure on mechanical properties. Titanium matrix composites and titanium aluminides have also been extensively studied for future application in high‐pressure compressors.
