<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>We propose a factorization technique for the Helmholtz operator of a static condensed, three‐dimensional, cartesian spectral‐element discretization, that yields linear complexity in the number of degrees of freedom.
