<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Moist silica gel is found to be a much better catalyst in the bis(indolyl)alkane synthesis than many silica supported acid catalysts, since it requires no heating and facilitates much shorter reaction time.</p> </abstract>
