<abstract abstract-type="short"> <title>Key Points</title> <p> <list id="ccd25739-list-0001" list-type="bullet"> <list-item id="ccd25739-li-0001"> <p>Thrombocytopenia after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is common and usually reaches 50–60% below baseline platelet levels.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="ccd25739-li-0002"> <p>Adverse sequelae are rare but persistent thrombocytopenia is associated with increased mortality.</p> </list-item> <list-item id="ccd25739-li-0003"> <p>Further studies identifying patients with comorbidities that lead to persistent thrombocytopenia and higher mortality might help identify patients with limited benefit from TAVR.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </abstract>
