Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>Supramolecular stabilization of tautomers: </bold> The investigated Schiff base is far more stable as the enol tautomer as shown by quantum‐chemistry computations and spectroscopic studies in solution. In the solid state, however, in all obtained polymorphs or cocrystalline forms, it exists solely as the metastable keto tautomer. The stabilization of the metastable tautomer in the crystals was found to be due to supramolecular interactions, in particular due to hydrogen bonding with neighboring molecules in which the hydrogen acceptors are the atoms involved in the intramolecular proton transfer.
