<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>A new and unusual method for the synthesis of the title compounds (III) (8 examples) is developed involving ring‐opening of coumarin‐based dihydrobenzothiazoles (I) and subsequent [4 + 1] cycloaddition reaction with isocyanides (II).</p> </abstract>
