Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>The inside back cover picture shows</bold> multiple chemistries including macrodiolide formation accessible from thioesterases (TEs) presented with an unnatural substrate. Phylogenetic analysis by C. N. Boddy et al. (<ext-link ext-link-type="doi" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">p. 2656 ff.</ext-link>) supports a convergent evolutionary model for macrodiolide‐forming TEs.
