- <abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <italic> <bold>The fate of poly‐ubiquitylated proteins</bold> </italic> is determined by the linkage type of the ubiquitin chains attached. In their Communication on <ext-link ext-link-type="doi" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">page 12925 ff., </ext-link> T. U. Mayer, M. Scheffner, A. Marx et al. report a straightforward method that relies on codon expansion and bioorthogonal polymerization to generate linkage‐defined and protease‐resistant ubiquitin chains.
