- <abstract abstract-type="normal"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Eight new species of <italic>Lecideaceae</italic> are described from the southern subpolar region: <italic>Bryobilimbia coppinsiana</italic> Fryday, a saxicolous species with one septate ascospores (Campbell Island, New Zealand); <italic>Immersaria fuliginosa</italic> Fryday, with a thallus composed of thalloconidia (Falkland Islands); <italic>Lecidea aurantia</italic> Fryday, with an orange thallus (Auckland Islands, New Zealand); <italic>L. campbellensis</italic> Fryday, with an endolithic thallus and apothecia resembling those of a species of <italic>Porpidia</italic> (Campbell Island); <italic>Poeltiaria ochyrae</italic> Hertel, which is similar to <italic>P. subincongua</italic> but with a thick areolate thallus (South Orkney and South Shetland Islands); <italic>P. tasmanica</italic> Fryday, which is similar to <italic>P. urbanskyana</italic> but with smaller ascopores (Tasmania); <italic>Poeltidea inspersa</italic> Fryday with an enolithic thallus and a hymenium with large oil globules (Falkland Islands); and <italic>Porpidia vulcanoides</italic> Hertel &amp; Fryday with immersed apothecia with a thick margin and large ascospores (SW Chile). <italic>Lecidea kalbii</italic> Hertel is resurrected from the synonymy of <italic>L. mannii</italic> Tuck. and treated as a distinct species.
