<abstract abstract-type="short"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>What is already known about this topic?</bold> <list id="pd4422-list-0001" list-type="bullet"> <list-item id="pd4422-li-0001"> <p>Brainstem disconnection (BD) is a very rare, lethal, and poorly understood congenital anomaly diagnosed typically on neonatal MRI and never before diagnosed by fetal MRI.
