<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Single crystals of Ca<sub>2</sub>P<sub>2</sub>O<sub>7</sub>·H<sub>2</sub>O are prepared by diffusion of separate aqueous CaCl<sub>2</sub> and Na<sub>4</sub>P<sub>2</sub>O<sub>7</sub> solutions into a Na<sub>2</sub>SiO<sub>3</sub>·5H<sub>2</sub>O gel (room temperature, 14 d).</p> </abstract>
