<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>Exocoetidae</bold> The zoomorphism portrays the ESI‐MS(/MS) fishing of the permanently charge‐tagged (CT) reagents and their subsequent intermediates and products. The use of the CT reagents allows reaction monitoring under real reaction conditions without the requirement for ESI additives or adventitious equilibria for (de)protonation or ion association and provides a powerful means for identifying intermediates, their transformations, and the delineation of reaction pathways within the multi‐component Hantzsch 1, 4‐dihydropyridine reaction.
