<abstract abstract-type="main" id="ced12388-abs-0001"> <title>Summary</title> <sec id="ced12388-sec-0001" sec-type="section"> <title>Background</title> <p>Nilotinib is a second generation tyrosine kinase inhibitor, used in the treatment of chronic myelogenous leukaemia (CML).</p> </sec> <sec id="ced12388-sec-0002" sec-type="section"> <title>Methods</title> <p>We assessed a 72‐year‐old woman who was treated with nilotinib for CML.</p> </sec> <sec id="ced12388-sec-0003" sec-type="section"> <title>Results</title> <p>During the year following commencement of nilotinib, the patient developed eight squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs) on her legs.</p> </sec> <sec id="ced12388-sec-0004" sec-type="section"> <title>Conclusions</title> <p>Development of SCC is a previously unreported adverse reaction to nilotinib.</p> </sec> </abstract>
