Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>The properties of biological mineralo‐protein nanoparticles that form spontaneously in human body fluids are described by J. D. Young and co‐workers <ext-link ext-link-type="doi" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">on page 2297</ext-link>. Concentrations of serum and precipitating ions near physiological levels produce small biomimetic nanoparticles that grow steadily in size but retain a similar protein profile irrespective of size.
