<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>The new compounds CaAu<sub>4</sub>Cd<sub>2</sub>, SrAu<sub>4</sub>Cd<sub>2</sub>, and EuAu<sub>4.8</sub>Cd<sub>1.2</sub> are synthesized from the elements (sealed Ta tubes, 800 mbar Ar, 923 K, 3 h).</p> </abstract>
