<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>The full rare earth chromite series LnCrO₃ and the isostructural compound YCrO₃ are prepared from mixtures of appropriate amounts of Cr(NO₃)₃ and Ln(NO₃)₃ with amorphous carbon as microwave absorber (porcelain crucible, microwave irradiation for 10 min, followed by heating at 500 and 800 °C for 2 h each, and sintering at 1300 °C for 15 h).</p> </abstract>
