Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="lpor201400091-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>A few‐cycle, broadband, mid‐infrared optical parametric oscillator (OPO) generating near‐transform‐limited idler pulses with as few as 3.7 optical cycles at 2682 nm is demonstrated. The OPO provides continuous tuning across 2179–3732 nm (4589–2680 cm⁻¹) by cavity delay, and delivers 33 mW of idler power at 3723 nm in stable 422‐nm‐wide (FWHM) spectra with high passive stability and TEM00 beam quality. <boxed-text content-type="graphic" position="anchor" orientation="portrait"><graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgh13021q24" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></boxed-text></p> </abstract>
