Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>[TbNa(4‐msal)₄(phen)₂]<italic>_n</italic> (<bold>1</bold>) (4‐msal = 4‐methyl salicylic acid), a new hetero‐metallic lanthanide coordination polymer (CP) involving sodium was synthesized. It crystallizes in the monoclinic space group <italic>P</italic>2₁/<italic>n</italic>, with <italic>a</italic> = 20.4809(9) Å, <italic>b</italic> = 9.8183(2) Å, <italic>c</italic> = 26.1987(11) Å, <italic>α</italic> = 90.00°, <italic>β</italic> = 112.922(5)°, <italic>γ</italic> = 90.00°, <italic>V</italic> = 4852.2(3) ų, and <italic>Z</italic> = 4. The complex was characterized by single crystal and powder X‐ray diffraction, elemental analysis (EA), and Fourier transform infrared (FT‐IR) and luminescence spectroscopy. The luminescence properties of a powder sample of <bold>1</bold> were studied at room temperature and the luminescence lifetime and total quantum yield (QY) were determined.</p> </abstract>
