- <abstract abstract-type="main"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>Seven novel fluorescence‐traced 1‐aryl‐2‐substituted‐3‐allyl‐1<italic>H</italic>‐benzimidazolium bromides (<bold>5a</bold>, <bold>5b</bold>, <bold>5c</bold>, <bold>5d</bold>, <bold>5e</bold>, <bold>5f</bold>, <bold>5g</bold>) were synthesized by <named-content content-type="reactionType" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">alkylation</named-content> and <named-content content-type="reactionType" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">quaternization</named-content> of compounds 1‐aryl‐2‐substituted‐1<italic>H</italic>‐benzimidazoles (<bold>4a</bold>, <bold>4b</bold>, <bold>4c</bold>, <bold>4d</bold>, <bold>4e</bold>, <bold>4f</bold>, <bold>4g</bold>) with excess allyl bromide in acetonitrile at refluxing temperature. Their structures were characterized by <sup>1</sup>H‐NMR, MS, and elemental analysis. They emit violet‐blue light (λ<sup>Em</sup><sub>max</sub> = 386–438 nm) with fluorescence quantum yields of 0.54 to 0.75 in aqueous solution.</p> </abstract>
