Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>A phytochemical investigation of the fruits of <italic>Melia azedarach</italic> led to the isolation of two new C‐<italic>seco</italic>‐nimbolinin‐type limonoids, 3<italic>α</italic>‐acetoxy‐1<italic>α</italic>, 7<italic>α</italic>‐dihydroxy‐12<italic>α</italic>‐methoxynimbolinin (<bold>1</bold>) and 3<italic>α</italic>‐acetoxy‐1<italic>α</italic>, 12<italic>α</italic>‐dihydroxy‐7<italic>α</italic>‐(2‐methylprop‐2‐enoyl)nimbolinin (<bold>2</bold>), together with eleven known compounds, <bold>3</bold>–<bold>13</bold>. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis, including ¹H‐ and ¹³C‐NMR, HMQC, HMBC, NOESY, and HR‐FAB‐MS.</p> </abstract>
