- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Under copper(I) or silver(I)/base cocatalysis conditions, transient 2<italic>H</italic>‐pyrroline intermediates generated by the cycloaddition of isocyanoacetates and olefins can be <italic>in situ</italic> subjected to further transformations. A strategically novel, convergent, mild, efficient, general and atom‐economic access to <italic>cis</italic>‐3a, 8a‐hexahydropyrrolo[2, 3‐<italic>b</italic>]indoles, which are core scaffolds in many biologically important natural products, has been developed based on this concept.</p> <p> <boxed-text content-type="graphic" position="anchor" orientation="portrait"> <graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgh11pkcd10" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /> </boxed-text> </p> </abstract>
