Main outcome measures were self‐reported leisure time physical activity and accelerometer‐measured physical activity. Both were quantified using minutes of moderate‐intensity physical activity and categorized as inactive, insufficiently active, or sufficiently active. Mild hearing impairment was not associated with level of physical activity.</p> </sec> <sec id="jgs12938-sec-0007" sec-type="section"> <title>Conclusion</title> <p>Moderate or greater hearing impairment in older adults is associated with lower levels of physical activity independent of demographic and cardiovascular risk factors. Future research is needed to investigate the basis of this association and whether hearing rehabilitative interventions could affect physical activity in older adults.</p> </sec> </abstract> … (more)
