- <abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="admi201400066-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>Photoinduced charge distributions</bold> for single Au nanoparticles deposited on single crystalline TiO<sub>2</sub> are visualized in situ by Kelvin probe force microscopy. Under UV light, the electrons in excited TiO<sub>2</sub> transfer to the Au nanoparticles. In contrast, when the Au nanoparticles are selectively excited by visible‐infrared light, electrons are injected from the nanoparticles to TiO<sub>2</sub>, resulting in plasmon‐induced charge separation. <boxed-text content-type="graphic" position="anchor" orientation="portrait"><graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pghmfnqfg7" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></boxed-text></p> </abstract>
