Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>We have established a facile protocol for the preparation of bis(4‐methoxyphenyl)methanethiol (<bold>4</bold>). Thiol <bold>4</bold> was used to prepare biotin thioester <bold>7</bold> which was later subjected to acidolysis to afford biotin thioacid (<bold>1b</bold>) in high yield. Compound <bold>1b</bold> represents a new biotinylating reagent worth exploring and its spectral data was reported for the first time.</p> </abstract>
