<abstract abstract-type="synopsis" xml:lang="en" id="embr201338369-abs-0002"> <title>Synopsis</title> <p> <boxed-text content-type="graphic" id="embr201338369-blkfxd-0001" position="anchor" orientation="portrait"> <graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pghjsq73m4" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /> </boxed-text> </p> <p>RNF4 is an important ubiquitin ligase in the DNA damage response (DDR) that targets SUMOylated proteins.
