- <abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="aenm201301927-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>By controlling the crystallinity and average grain size of thermoelectric Na<sub><italic>x</italic></sub>CoO<sub>2</sub> thin films</bold>, a doubling of the thermoelectric power factor is achieved in combination with a strong suppression of the thermal conductivity. These structurally engineered Na<sub><italic>x</italic></sub>CoO<sub>2</sub> thin films outperform single crystalline and polycrystalline samples at room temperature and demonstrate the potential of thermoelectric oxide thin films. <boxed-text content-type="graphic" position="anchor" orientation="portrait"><graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pghgxpb90g" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></boxed-text></p> </abstract>
