- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Octanol capped silicon nanoparticles crystallizing in the metastable BC8 structure are prepared by a colloidal route from mixtures of SiI<sub>4</sub>, n‐butyllithium, dioctylether, and 1‐octanol (280 °C, 72 h, 25—35% yield).</p> </abstract>
