- <abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Eu<sup>3+</sup>‐doped Ca<sub>3</sub>SnSi<sub>2</sub>O<sub>9</sub> is prepared via solid state synthesis using stoichiometric mixtures of CaCO<sub>3</sub>, CaF<sub>2</sub>, SnO<sub>2</sub>, SiO<sub>2</sub>, Eu<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>, and Dy<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> with small amounts of H<sub>3</sub>BO<sub>3</sub> as flux (1400 °C, 4 h, ambient atmosphere).</p> </abstract>
