<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="aenm201301389-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>A very practical, 3D air electrode architecture based on a bifunctional cobalt oxide nanowire array</bold> that is active towards both the oxygen reduction and oxygen evolution reactions is introduced.
