- <abstract abstract-type="main"> <title>ABSTRACT</title> <p>The effect of a rectangular ground slot (RGS) is investigated in a small‐sized microstrip antenna embedded with two rectangular and one half‐U open ended slots. It is observed that the resonance frequency of the proposed antenna can be tuned from 6.096 GHz down to 3.51 GHz by changing the length parameter of the RGS. The maximum impedance bandwidth is obtained about 16.02% for the size reduction of 42.44% and maximum size reduction is 81.48% for the impedance bandwidth of 5.24%. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
