<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en" id="bjd12658-abs-0002"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>What's already known about this topic?</bold> </p> <p> <list id="bjd12655-list-0001" list-type="bullet"> <list-item> <p>It has been suggested that intralesional corticosteroid therapy is effective in controlling the permanent disfiguring swelling of orofacial granulomatosis (OFG); however, robust supporting evidence is lacking due to the variable and inconsistent design of available studies.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> <p> <bold>What does this study add?</bold> </p> <p> <list id="bjd12655-list-0002" list-type="bullet"> <list-item> <p>This is the first cohort study on intralesional therapy to employ robust cohort design, consistent methodology and a standardized regimen of triamcinolone injections.
