<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en" id="bjd12738-abs-0002"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>What's already known about this topic?</bold> <list id="bjd12738-list-0001" list-type="bullet"> <list-item> <p>Circulating cell‐free DNA (CFD) levels, a marker associated with inflammation, has never been evaluated in psoriasis.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> <p> <bold>What does this study add?</bold> </p> <p> <list id="bjd12738-list-0002" list-type="bullet"> <list-item> <p>At the active stage of psoriasis, patients presented an increased inflammation associated with raised circulating CFD levels, which seem to be linked to psoriasis severity.</p> </list-item> <list-item> <p>NB‐UVB and PUVA, anti‐inflammatory therapies, were effective in decreasing CFD values.</p> </list-item> <list-item> <p>The evaluation of circulating CFD may provide a new biomarker to monitor psoriasis, its severity and its treatment.</p> </list-item> </list> </p> </abstract>
