Instead of preparing metallic alloys formed by 3d metals with anisotropic lanthanides (such as NdFe14B), a molecular approach was used to design a hybrid crystalline lattice formed by an anisotropic single molecule magnet (SMM) incorporated into a bimetallic oxalate 3D ferromagnetic network. Thanks to the antiferromagnetic interaction established between these two magnetic networks, a large increase in the coercive field has been observed at low temperatures.
