<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>Perfluoroalkyl (R<sub>F</sub>) titanocene reagents [Cp<sub>2</sub>Ti<sup>III</sup>R<sub>F</sub>] synthesized via [Cp<sub>2</sub>Ti<sup>III</sup>Cl] rather than [Cp<sub>2</sub>Ti<sup>II</sup>] show new types of perfluoroalkylation reactions. The [Cp<sub>2</sub>Ti<sup>III</sup>R<sub>F</sub>] reagents exhibit a wide variety of reactivity with carbonyl compounds including esters and nitriles, and selectivities far higher than those reported for conventional R<sub>F</sub>Li and R<sub>F</sub>MgX reagents.</p> </abstract>
