<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>Sticking together:</bold> Genetic information, bioassays and chemical characterisation have revealed that photopyrones produced by insect pathogenic <italic>Photorabdus</italic> bacteria are new bacterial signalling compounds.
