- <abstract abstract-type="main"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p>Two new aminophosphines – furfuryl‐(<italic>N</italic>‐dicyclohexylphosphino)amine, [Cy<sub>2</sub>PNHCH<sub>2</sub>–C<sub>4</sub>H<sub>3</sub>O] (<bold>1</bold>) and thiophene‐(<italic>N</italic>‐dicyclohexylphosphino)amine, [Cy<sub>2</sub>PNHCH<sub>2</sub>–C<sub>4</sub>H<sub>3</sub>S] (<bold>2</bold>) – were prepared by the reaction of chlorodicyclohexylphosphine with furfurylamine and thiophene‐2‐methylamine. Reaction of the aminophosphines with [Ru(η<sup>6</sup>‐<italic>p</italic>‐cymene)(μ‐Cl)Cl]<sub>2</sub> or [Ru(η<sup>6</sup>‐benzene)(μ‐Cl)Cl]<sub>2</sub> gave corresponding complexes [Ru(Cy<sub>2</sub>PNHCH<sub>2</sub>–C<sub>4</sub>H<sub>3</sub>O)(η<sup>6</sup>‐<italic>p</italic>‐cymene)Cl<sub>2</sub>] (<bold>1a</bold>), [Ru(Cy<sub>2</sub>PNHCH<sub>2</sub>–C<sub>4</sub>H<sub>3</sub>O)(η<sup>6</sup>‐benzene)Cl<sub>2</sub>] (<bold>1b</bold>), [Ru(Cy<sub>2</sub>PNHCH<sub>2</sub>–C<sub>4</sub>H<sub>3</sub>S)(η<sup>6</sup>‐<italic>p</italic>‐cymene)Cl<sub>2</sub>] (<bold>2a</bold>) and [Ru(Cy<sub>2</sub>PNHCH<sub>2</sub>–C<sub>4</sub>H<sub>3</sub>S)(η<sup>6</sup>‐benzene)Cl<sub>2</sub>] (<bold>2b</bold>), respectively, which are suitable catalyst precursors for the <named-content content-type="reactionType" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">transfer hydrogenation</named-content> of ketones. In particular, [Ru(Cy<sub>2</sub>PNHCH<sub>2</sub>–C<sub>4</sub>H<sub>3</sub>S)(η<sup>6</sup>‐benzene)Cl<sub>2</sub>] acts as a good catalyst, giving the corresponding alcohols in 98–99% yield in 30 min at 82 °C (up to time of flight ≤ 588 h<sup>−1</sup>).
