- <abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <italic> <bold>A homogeneous catalytic system</bold> </italic> for the direct synthesis of hydrogen peroxide is presented by S. Fukuzumi and co‐workers in their Communication on <ext-link ext-link-type="doi" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">page 12327 ff.</ext-link> In the presence of an organoiridium complex in combination with flavin mononucleotide (FMN), nontoxic hydrogen and oxygen gases react with each other in water under normal pressure at room temperature to selectively form hydrogen peroxide, a chemical fuel expected to be utilized in future fuel cells.<boxed-text content-type="graphic" position="anchor" orientation="portrait"><graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgg4t78ssnf" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></boxed-text></p> </abstract>
