- <abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>Unlike the self‐assembly</bold> of other surfactants, that of metallacarborane clusters, described as θ‐shaped amphiphiles, does not originate from the hydrophobic effect. In their Communication on <ext-link ext-link-type="doi" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">page 12114 ff.</ext-link>, P. Bauduin et al. show that specific interactions involving many intermolecular dihydrogen bonds, such as CH<sup><italic>δ</italic>+</sup>⋅⋅⋅<sup><italic>δ</italic>−</sup>HB, are the key to understanding the aggregation process in water.
