<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>The total synthesis</bold> of <italic>N</italic>‐methylwelwitindolinone D isonitrile (<bold>1</bold>) has been achieved in 17 steps from a readily available carvone derivative.
