<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>Holding tight</bold>: An artificial membrane nanopore assembled from DNA oligonucleotides carries porphyrin tags (red), which anchor the nanostructure into the lipid bilayer.
