Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="main" xml:lang="en"> <title>Abstract</title> <p>A series of six new lithium‐cyclopropylethinylamidinates, Li[<italic>c</italic>‐C₃H₅–C≡C–C(NR)₂]·S (R = <italic>i</italic>Pr, S = Et₂O (<bold>2a</bold>), THF (<bold>2b</bold>), DME (<bold>2c</bold>); R = cyclohexyl (Cy), S = Et₂O (3a), THF (<bold>3b</bold>), DME (<bold>3c</bold>)) were prepared and fully characterized. The synthetic protocol involves in situ‐deprotonation of commercially available cyclopropylacetylene followed by treatment with either <italic>N</italic>, <italic>N′</italic>‐diisopropylcarbodiimide or <italic>N</italic>, <italic>N′</italic>‐dicyclohexylcarbodiimide. The cyclopropyl substituent exerts a significant influence on the ¹³C NMR spectroscopic shift of the acetylenic carbon atom to which it is bound. X‐ray diffraction studies of <bold>2b</bold> and <bold>3b</bold> revealed that in the solid state the new lithium amidinates adopt ladder‐type dimeric molecular structures.</p> </abstract>
