<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en" id="smll201301595-abs-0001"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <bold>The interplay of the Au(110) surface and alkyl‐substituted DNA bases</bold> induces reorganization of the surface with parallel atomic grooves, while the enhanced surface anisotropy constrains the substituent alkyl chains along the grooves.
