Abstract

<abstract abstract-type="graphical" xml:lang="en"> <title> <x xml:space="preserve">Abstract</x> </title> <p> <italic> <bold>Hole–shell microparticles</bold> </italic> with controllable structures and flexible internal surfaces have been fabricated from controllably evolved water/oil/water emulsions, as described by L.‐Y. Chu et al. in their Communication on <ext-link ext-link-type="doi" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">page 8084 ff.</ext-link> These microparticles could be used as microcontainers for controlled capture/release and as microreactors for confined reactions.<boxed-text content-type="graphic" position="anchor" orientation="portrait"><graphic position="anchor" mimetype="image" xlink:href="ark:/27927/pgg276x4v0s" orientation="portrait" xlink:type="simple" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" /></boxed-text></p> </abstract>
